Attitude

There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
Well,” she said, “I think I’ll braid my hair today?”
So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
“H-M-M,” she said,
“I think I’ll part my hair down the middle today?”
So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
“Well,” she said,
“today I’m going to wear my hair in a pony tail.”
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn’t a single hair on her head.
“YEA!” she exclaimed,
“I don’t have to fix my hair today!”

Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply,

Love generously,

Care deeply,

Speak kindly…….

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.

It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Every little step counts

A staircase composed of very small steps can reach just as high as a staircase made of large steps, and the climb is much more manageable. Every little step counts. Doing just a little is infinitely more rewarding than doing nothing. And just a little can quickly lead to just a little more.

Five minutes a day adds up to two and a half hours a month, and thirty hours over the course of a year. If you spend those five minutes each day making minor improvements, they can steadily bring about major accomplishments.

Offer one small gesture of kindness each day and multiply it over the course of a lifetime. You’ll find your world filled with rich, rewarding and genuine relationships.

Every little step counts, because the little steps are usually the ones that actually get taken. There’s virtually no risk, and yet the rewards, over time, can be enormous.

What one little step would make life better for you this very day? Get in the habit of taking small positive steps, and you’ll create big, lasting success.

Keep On

Keep on going, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down.

Peace

Until you make peace with who you are … you’ll never be content with what you have.

Steady and sustainable

When you’re too busy to take a break, that’s when a taking a break will do you the most good. Sometimes you reach a point at which the fastest way to go forward is to slow down a bit. When you rush through your work, never pausing to catch your breath, you’re likely to make all sorts of mistakes. Then you’ll have to spend time later correcting those mistakes, so the time you gain by hurrying is quickly lost and then exceeded by the toll it takes.

Consider taking a break, clearing your mind and energizing your body. The work will still be there when you get back, and by getting away from it for a while you’ll be in a much better position to handle it effectively.

It’s great to be ambitious and eager to get the job done. Yet there is nothing to be gained by working until you drop.

The more you focus on the deadline itself, the less likely you are to meet it, so put your focus on getting the job done at a steady and sustainable pace. Instead of worrying about running out of time, completely let go of the worry and make calm, deliberate use of the time.

Don’t put yourself behind by attempting to go too far too fast. Move at a pace that enables you to be your best, for that is what will move you ahead most quickly.

– Ralph Marston

This is the Day

If you’ve been waiting to start really living your life, today is the day to begin. As of this moment, your wait is over. Sure, it would be nice if you could wait just a little bit longer, to get in better shape, to get a little more organized, or to save up some more money. The fact is, though, that things are never going to be perfect, so why not just go ahead and jump right now into the fullness of life?

You know all those things you’ve been telling yourself that someday you’ll get around to doing? That idealized someday is never really going to come, yet the good news is that today is just fine and is here for you right now.

Today is what you have to work with. Today is when you can actually give life to your dreams.

Today you can put those things you’ve been meaning to do into real, effective, fulfilling action. Today you will experience how good it is to go beyond merely planning, dreaming and intending, and to bring those beautiful plans to life.

Though it may seem very ordinary, this is the day you’ve been waiting to live. Breathe in the sweet air of limitless possibility, and make life as rich as you know it can be.

– Ralph Marston

It Takes Courage

tower

It takes strength to be firm,
It takes courage to be gentle.

It takes strength to conquer,
It takes courage to surrender.

It takes strength to be certain,
It takes courage to have doubt.

It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out.

It takes strength to feel a friend’s pain,
It takes courage to feel your own pain.

It takes strength to endure abuse,
It takes courage to stop it.

It takes strength to stand alone,
It takes courage to lean on another.

It takes strength to love,
It takes courage to be loved.

It takes strength to survive,
It takes courage to live.
